Candidates/Vehicle Type
Drivers of Light Vehicles: who hold a category B license and who drive the following vehicles: passenger cars, vans, mini-buses pick-up trucks.
Drivers of Heavy Vehicles: who hold a category C, D, CE license and who drive the following vehicles: trucks, tractor-trailers, fuel tankers, cement tankers and buses.
Program Description
The Eco Driving training program employs both international standards and training best practices.
Objective
Candidates will learn to apply Eco Driving techniques to their driving style and to develop skills to handle their vehicle in such a way as to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
Training Methodology
Candidates participate in the theory session in small groups and then in a practical session which takes place in real traffic conditions, in the candidate’s vehicle and with a trainer to candidate ratio of 1:1. During the practical session, fuel consumption is monitored electronically, thus permitting consumption comparison before and after the application of Eco Driving techniques.
Prerequisites
– Valid driver’s license
– Driving experience of at least one year
– The practical is executed with the candidate’s vehicle
Participation
Theory: Groups of maximum twelve (12) candidates
Duration
– 1,5 hours theory session
– 2 hours practical session
Training Venue
– Theory: A Hall or other venue furnished with audio visual equipment
– Practical: Executed in real traffic conditions
