
Candidates/Vehicle Type | Anti-Skid for Light Vehicles targets drivers who hold a category B license and who drive the following vehicles: passenger cars, vans, mini-buses, pick-up trucks. Anti-Skid for Heavy Vehicles targets drivers who hold a category C, D, CE license and who drive the following vehicles: trucks, tractor-trailers, fuel tankers, cement tankers and buses. |
Program Description | The Anti-Skid training program employs international standards and best practices regarding Road Safety Education and Driver Trainer Techniques. For Heavy Vehicles, this program can be executed in conjunction with the Anti-Rollover training program. |
Objective | The candidates will have the opportunity to understand and apply proper breaking and obstacle avoidance techniques under various slippery road surface conditions. They will learn how to maintain control of the vehicle under extreme conditions and come to understand the factors that affect the direction of the vehicle when breaking. |
Training Methodology | Candidates participate in the theory session in small groups and then in the practical session of the training program which includes 4 on-track exercises which simulate the most frequent skidding conditions. |
Indicative Training Content | Breaking with ABS according to the condition of the road surface and maintaining vehicle control. Emergency/panic breaking, avoiding jack knifing (for Heavy Articulated Vehicles). Breaking techniques when the tractor has ABS and the trailer does not. Detailed program content is included upon request for an offer. |
